Central America

15 photos that will make you fall in love with Guatemala

Antigua, Guatemala

Colourful markets, cobblestone streets, Spanish architecture and active volcanoes. Tacos, Gallo beer, Mayan ruins and chicken buses. Guatemala is truly a gem of Central America. With a troubled history of genocide, civil war, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. As a result the country has been forced to rebuild itself on a number of occasions. Today it is the biggest nation in Central America and home to a rich culture made up of a combination of Spanish and indigenous influences.

From Antigua to Lake Atitlan and the ruins of Tikal there’s so much to see and discover. I wanted to stay and explore forevermore! I can only hope I’ve been able to capture the way Guatemala made me feel in my images because I doubt I’d be able to describe it with words. And so finally, without further ado, here are 15 photos that will make you fall in love with Guatemala!
