India is one of those places that’s difficult to describe using only words. But if I had to try, words that spring to mind are colourful, chaotic, spiritual, thriving and magnificent. It’s one of those places that is so full of wonder, it’s almost hard to comprehend. Everywhere you look, something is going on. Often described as “an assault on the senses”, I couldn’t agree with this statement more! There’s an abundance of smells, sights, sounds and textures and it never stops, no matter the time of the day. It’s fascinating and overwhelming and so full of life! It will open your eyes to culture and religion like nowhere else in the world.
If I’m being honest, India’s not the best with first impressions, it’s the kind of place that takes time to fall in love with. You need to dig a little deeper and truly experience India before you make any snap judgements. Explore the sights of Delhi, ride a camel in the desert, laze on the beaches of the South, trek the Himalayas in the North, visit the Taj Mahal for sunrise, make friends with the locals, experience the holy city of Varanasi and eat samosa’s until you’re bursting at the seams.
I absolutely adore India. I was recently looking through photos I’ve taken on my travels in India and they prompted me to put together this post. Let me take you on a photographic journey through India and get ready to add this incredible place to the top of your bucket list.
